She was born March 29th 1985, in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her birthname. Gerina Stevenson's parents include Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. She is of Mexican-American heritage and is an American through citizenship. Her entire life has been a sports enthusiast. Gerina was a golfer for the first time at the age of 15. Gerina graduated from high school at Goddard High School. As a high school student, Gerina won the New Mexico golf state tournament. She was also a volleyball player and competed at the state level. 2003was the year she started her studies at The University of Texas. In the final seasons of her professional career, she won each tournament in which she competed. While in her undergrad year, she received the Conference USA's player of the season and UTEP's Female Athletic of the Year.
